Chris Lara is the founder of Collabo, a full-service digital ad studio and ad serving platform based in the United States. His path into ad tech wasn't linear. Chris started his career as a designer — building brand systems, digital interfaces, and creative campaigns for clients across industries. He was good at it. But the longer he worked inside the digital advertising ecosystem, the more he kept running into the same frustrating gap: agencies and advertisers were producing great creative that fell apart at the delivery layer. Broken macros. Failed tags. Discrepant reporting between the ad server and the DSP. Campaigns going live with technical issues nobody caught because the studio had already handed off and moved on.
Nobody was owning the full problem.
That realization led to a deliberate decision. Chris stopped taking general design and UX work and went all-in on digital advertising — not just the creative surface, but the technical depth. The ad serving infrastructure. The DSP integrations. The macro configurations. The measurement layers. The parts that most studios hand off to someone else or ignore entirely.
He built Collabo from the ground up to do what no one else in the space was willing to do — own every layer of the ad lifecycle, end to end, under one roof. Build the ad. Host it. Tag it. Traffic it. Track it. Troubleshoot it until it works.
Today, Collabo works with agencies, advertisers, and publishers across every major DSP — GAM, DV360, Amazon, Trade Desk, Xandr, Yahoo, and Adelphic — delivering hand-coded ad units that run flawlessly across every screen and every platform.
What makes Collabo different isn't just the technical capability. It's the philosophy behind it. Chris built the company on one belief: that agency-level quality shouldn't require an agency-level price tag, and that the best ad in the world is worthless if the tag doesn't fire.
That belief shows up in every project Collabo takes on — from a simple HTML5 banner to a complex SIMID pause ad running across three DSPs simultaneously. Every unit hand-coded. Every macro validated. Every campaign monitored until it performs.
No templates. No handoffs. No excuses.
